UC Merced is located in the heart of California, just a short drive from the Sierra Nevada, Sacramento, the Bay Area, and the Central Coast. By the shores of beautiful Lake Yosemite, you'll find a peaceful environment with lots of room to grow. Come take a tour or participate in one of our many events.

UC Merced Admissions

Opened in fall 2005, UC Merced is the first major research university built in the 21st century. As a student, you will have the opportunity to shape the structure of campus clubs, activities, and organizations, while studying with internationally recognized faculty chosen for their excellence in teaching and innovation.

Student Services

The Students First Center (SFC) supports UC Merced’s mission to maintain excellence in education, research, and public service by assisting students, parents, and visitors with information about a variety of campus services. Set in one central location, the SFC is a student's first stop for questions about admissions, financial aid, scholarships, student records, and registration.

Campus majors and programs are organized into three academic schools: the School of Engineering, the School of Natural Sciences, and the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. UC Merced students enjoy unique opportunities to participate in research early in their university experience, and can work with faculty to address real-life environmental and social issues.
